Welcome and thanks for stopping by the new blog for Green House Framing, a collaborative venture of artists Lisa Pratt and Lars Jorgensen. We just launched our brand new website which we feel finally reflects who we are and what we do. Please do check it out and let us know what you think.
When we created Green House Framing back in 2002, we had no idea how to run a green business or who to ask for help. We only knew we wanted to make something with our hands that we could be proud of. Eight years later, we are incredibly fortunate to still be doing what we love. We owe it all to our loyal customers for the constant support and encouragement. We could not be here without you. Now is the time for us to give back.
Our mission, from the moment we conceived of Green House Framing, is to preserve art without causing any harm to the environment. All of our frames, services, and methods are still guided by this philosophy. Our intention with this blog is to share what we have learned about sustainable picture framing and owning a green business.
Some of the topics we will cover include frame construction, choosing and cutting your own mats and glass, installing artwork, conservation framing practices, and sourcing your own tools and materials. We will also talk about what we are working on, including special projects and new products. We will promote other small companies and artists like ourselves. We want to build a community where we can share information and support one another.

I am blown away by your web site! Lars, I am one of your Mom’s buddies and via facebook ended up at your site. – I am totally impressed, excited, and onboard with your mission, what your game plan is, and what you are accomplishing! I know these are challenges times, but from the information I see on your web site, – I am confident, from my environmental preservatrion perspective, that you will succeed at meeting your goals. Meanwhile, I have just tried to do whatever one does on facebook to share your site with my other friends, but I cannot gaurantee my success.. Also, my daughter, Colleen, is with the Nature Conservancy in Colorado. I don’t know if the Nature Conservancy is are already a client of yours, but I am going to send a link to your web site to her as I am sure they are a natural perspective.
